Recently I've become bored in the realm of teh vidya games. WoW lost its luster, Call of Duty 4 is great now except for the fact I'm lacking XBox Live, and I'm now down to playing AudioSurf and Tiger Woods. Thank God the gym, writing, and running keep my mind/body occupied and in shape. Anyway, so I peeped this:

And then I squeed...literally (if "to squee" is even a verb). Very, very rare for a guy like me in his early twenties.

I don't really look the part, but I am quite a nerd. I may not do cosplay, I don't do tabletop, I despise AMVs, and genetics was kind to me, but deep down inside I carry the pride of being a nerd.

I've seen Warhammer 40K since I was in middle school, but I had no idea what in the hell it was nor did I want to. I thought it was something that only kids that lived in gloomy basement bedrooms did under cover of darkness, another attempt by the UK to weaken American children and their sports affinities. It wasn't until I tried out Relic's Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War RTS (Real Time Strategy) that my love for the genre bloomed. Starcraft was cool, really cool for that matter, but when I watched Space Marines lay down unprecedented amounts of whoop-ass on everyone and everything that I realized how cool this thing could be...through a game no less.

The premise is also rather nerdy and I don't pay too much heed to it. I'll be brief. Set in the 41st Millenium (no joke), humanity formed into something called the Imperium of Man, created by the semi-living God-Emperor of Man. Set upon all sides by Orks (basically orcs in space I kid you not), Eldar (elves and quite fruity too [sometimes ally with humans]), Tau (Asian-like aliens who are actually semi-good guys), Necrons (think metallic undead), and the Forces of Chaos (really nasty and vile), humanity fights every day on tons of worlds in order to maintain its survival. Now there's the regular Imperial Guard (meh), Sisters of Battle (zealous chicks on power trips) and then the Space Marines (huge, genetically engineered super soldiers). The Space Marines are essentially the Billy Badasses of this realm and a single Marine can destroy a whole city block with what he has. In Dawn of War you are the Blood Ravens (made up) Chapter led by Captain Gabriel Angelos (dude with the huge shocking hammer in the video). It's fun, fast-paced at times, and has great combat. So anyway, this sequel looks fan-friggin-tastic and I hope it comes out soon.

In the mean time I've got another chapter coming soon and perhaps even another drawing or two.
